Ahead of the resumption of the Indian Premier League on May 17, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad has been boosted as Skipper Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma have joined the Franchise Camp ahead of the KKR match on Saturday.
After a week of suspension, IPL is starting. BCCI announced on Monday night that the remainder of the IPL will resume on May 17 with a match between RCB vs KKR. Announcing the arrival of their key players, the franchise took on its social media handle and posted about the duo’s return to the squad.

The franchise has officially announced the duo’s return to the RCB camp ahead of the resumption of the IPL. “Captain Rajat and his partner-in-crime Jitesh are back at base, ready to light up the remainder of #IPL2025 with the same swag, same intent, and more fire,” RCB wrote on X.

Rajat, who was earlier set to miss the tournament due to a finger injury he sustained during their match against Chennai Super Kings on May 3. As per reports of ESPN, the skipper was advised to wear a split and avoid practising in the nets. But with the IPL suspended, the batter got enough relief and recovery. In a positive turn of events, he has joined the team ahead of the upcoming match.
Rajat has played 11 matches so far this season and has scored 239 runs with a strike rate of 140.59 and an average of 23.90. Whereas, Jitesh Sharma has also played 11 matches for the team this season and has accumulated 128 runs so far in the season with an average of 25.60 and a strike rate of 142.22.
RCB IPL 2025 Season
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are in the second spot of the points table with a NRR of 0.482 and a total of 16 points. Having played 11 matches so far, the team has managed to gain 8 wins in their name and has only lost three matches. Leading from the start, RCB has been displaying an excellent performance throughout the league and is among the top teams to qualify for the IPL 2025 Playoffs.
