Digvesh Rathi IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants star bowler, Digvesh Rathi, has been fined 50% of his match fee and also has been suspended for one game for breaching the IPL code of conduct during LSG’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. Rathi was found guilty of committing a third-level 1 offence under Article 2.5. The incident occurred on May 19, when Digvesh Rathi was involved in a heated altercation with Abhishek Sharma following an aggressive celebration. As a result, Rathi has been handed a one-match ban and will miss the upcoming match against the Gujarat Titans. The Delhi-born player had previously received warnings and fines for similar behavior, but he continued the same with a slightly modified version of his celebration. During the match against Hyderabad, he once again violated the code of conduct and will now serve a suspension in the upcoming game against the Gujarat Titans. Additionally, he has been fined 50%, while Abhishek has received a 25% fine.

This was his third Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 this season and hence, he has accumulated two Demerit Points, in addition to three Demerit Points he had accumulated earlier – One Demerit Point against Punjab Kings on April 01, 2025, and two Demerit Points against Mumbai Indians on April 04, 2025. As of now, he has five demerit points this season, which has led him to a one-match suspension. He will now be suspended for Lucknow’s next game against the Gujarat Titans on May 22 in Ahmedabad.

Along with Digvesh, all-rounder Abhishek Sharma has also been fined 25 percent of his match fees along with one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Monday. This is the first instance for the player, and any further breach of code will cost him demerit points along with a match fee penalty.

For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.
