The Indian Premier League is all set to kick off from 22 March, with the first match set to take place between the defending champions KKR and RCB. The match is set to take place on Kolkata’s Home grounds, Eden Gardens Kolkata.
Besides the opener match, fans are excited about the opening ceremony of the IPL 2025 Season, which is going to start a few hours before the opener match. The Opening ceremony is set to be a star-studded event with Karan Aujla, Sunidhi Chauhan, and other B Town celebs joining the grounds for the celebration. But that’s not all, as per reports, this year BCCI is adding a fresh twist to the conventional rules of the opening ceremony.
As per traditions, the opening ceremony of the IPL is hosted on the ground of the opener match which is Kolkata’s Eden Gardens this time. But as per report by Sportstar, this year BCCI is hosting opening ceremonies at all 13 venues and will not just limit it to the one event in Kolkata. This is done because the BCCI wants to add more flavor to the IPL so that spectators from each venue can get the taste of the opening ceremony event.
BCCI to Host Event at all 13 Venues
To celebrate the occasion of the biggest cash league inauguration, BCCI is set to host the opening ceremony at all 13 IPL venues of IPL 2025. Although this isn’t the first time that BCCI has pulled this mega event to all IPL Venues, a similar event was also hosted in 2017 when the BCCI hosted the ceremony at all eight venues of that season.
“We wanted to add more flavour to the tournament so that spectators from each and every venue can get a taste of the opening ceremony. For the cultural programmes in each venue, we are planning to create a line-up of national and local artists,”
An insider familiar with BCCI’s ongoing plans has disclosed that cultural events might be in the works, with top stars from the music and film industry expected to make appearances at various venues on special occasions. With this confirmation from an insider, a star studded lineup is confirmed for the event and Karan Aujla, Disha Patani and Shreya Ghosal are among the confirmed artists that would be opening up the IPL season for all the fans.
