KKR New Captain

The defending champions KKR will come for their opening match with Ajinkya Rahane as their new Captain. Following a long debate over the leadership, KKR has now cleared the air and has officially announced the Captain for the 2025 season.

The announcement came officially from the CEO of KKR Venky Mysore. Announcing to the public, he said, “We are delighted to have someone like Ajinkya Rahane, who brings his experience and maturity as a leader. Also, Venkatesh Iyer has been a franchise player for KKR and brings a lot of leadership qualities. We are confident that they will combine well as we start the defense of our title.”

Along with announcing Ajinkya Rahane as their captain, Venkatesh Iyer has also been announced as franchise deputy in chair. Iyer has been bought by paying a massive amount of Rs 23.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The IPL Mega Auction has brought a whole circle of new changes to the team. For the IPL 2025, the purple army will have a new Captain as Ajinkya Rahane is officially stepping into Skipper’s shoes.

Rahane, who’s been stepping in as Shreyas Iyer’s successor, was bought for the amount of Rs 1.50 crore in the IPL 2025 Mega-Auction last year.
