Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa from the ongoing season of the TATA IPL due to some personal reasons. The South Africa international was a part of Gujarat Titans’ first two matches of the TATA IPL 2025.

“Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter,” said a statement by the Gujarat Titans. Earlier, Kagiso Rabada missed the important RCB vs GT clash and was not part of the playing XI. Captain Gill confirmed his absence after missing the place in the XI. He was then replaced by Arshad Khan in the match.

The franchise didn’t disclose much details on the players personal issues nor has given any date for the return of the pacer to the team. His absence from the tournament will be a big blow to the squad as Kagiso has formed a fiery pacer attack for the franchise alongside Gerald Coetzee, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma and Prasidh Krishna.

The 29 year old GT star has played two matches for the franchise where he registered decent figures with 1/41 against Punjab and 1/42 against Mumbai Indians, before he left the team in a Match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru where he was replaced by Arshad Khan. Arshad made an immediate impact in the match and dismissed Virat Kohli in the powerplay giving the Titans much needed start.

Gujarat Titans grabbed the services of the South African star for an amount of Rs 10.75 in the IPL Mega Auction last year. Having played a total of 82 IPL matches, Rabada has made himself popular in the league. He has claimed a total of 119 wickets at an economy rate of 8.53 and an average of 22.29.

The return of the pacer is yet to be confirmed, but the franchise will hope that they can get Rabada as soon as possible to get their fast-bowling attack back to full strength.
