Just hours after Glenn Maxwell bid farewell to ODI cricket, another global cricket star, Heinrich Klaasen, has announced his retirement from the International stage. He now won’t be part of international cricket and has retired from all formats of cricket, including Test matches, ODIs, and T20Is.
Klassen, a middle-order batter and an exceptional fielder who’s also capable of keeping wickets, Heinrich Klaasen is almost the perfect modern-day white-ball package. And this modern-day cricket has finally decided to step down from a golden career. Announcing his retirement, the South African wicketkeeper-batter shared an emotional note with fans via Instagram, officially stepping away from representing the Proteas. His decision marks the end of an era, as Klassen exits the game with Heartfelt gratitude and pride in wearing the national colors. Klassen took to his Instagram and shared the news with his fans.

In his post, Klassen called it a sad but peaceful decision after a long period of reflection about what’s best for him and his family. He described representing South Africa as his greatest honor and childhood dream. Klassen also expressed his appreciation for the friendships he made, the coaches who supported him, and the fans who stood by him. He will now look forward to spending more time with his family.
“It is a sad day for me as I announce that I have decided to step away from international cricket. It took me a long time to decide what’s best for me and my family for the future. It was truly a very difficult decision but also one that I have absolute peace with.
I look forward to spending more time with my family as this decision will allow me to do so.I will always be a big Proteas supporter and would like to thank everyone who supported me and my teammates during my career, “ He added.
Before this announcement, the 32-year-old announced his test retirement to concentrate on white ball cricket. His last appearance in International Cricket for South Africa came in March during the Champions Trophy semi-final against New Zealand.
Ending his career, Klassen has played a total of 60 ODIs, 58 T20Is, and four tests for the team and has scored a total of 3245 runs in all formats.
