One of the highly anticipated clashes of the IPL 2025 between last season’s finalists is taking place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on April 3. Surprisingly, the stands appear empty, with fewer fans than expected for the Kolkata Knight Riders’ home game.

The defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, are playing their fourth game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home. Notably, they lost their first game of the season to Royal Challengers Bangalore at their home turf. Currently, the team is standing at the bottom of the table with one victory in three matches.

Fans shocked as Eden Gardens stands remain empty for KKR vs SRH clash

A Twitter user, WTFcricket, blamed increased ticket prices for empty stands at Eden Gardens. He wrote, “So, Eden Gardens (KKR) increased the price of tickets, and the result is half-empty Eden Gardens. This is how you respond. Don’t go to the stadium because of these exorbitant prices; let them suffer, and they’ll drop the price eventually. All other team fans should learn”

Another user, Kshitij Ojha, wrote, “Can’t remember the last time I saw Eden Gardens this empty for a home game for KKR.”

A user, Yash, was also surprised with a missing crown at Eden Gardens. He shared the video, saying, “CROWD IS MISSING IN EDEN GARDENS. Strange!!”
