England Men name squad for 1st Rothesay Test Match against India on Thursday. Jamie Overton returns to the England Men’s Test squad for the 1st Rothesay Test against India, with Surrey teammate Gus Atkinson missing out with injury. The England Men’s selection panel has named a 14-player squad for the Rothesay first Test match against India at Headingley, which begins on Friday, 20 June 2025.

Ben Stokes will captain the side, with Jamie Overton returning after two years. Overton remains under medical observation due to a recent finger injury. Brydon Carse, Jacob Bethell, and Chris Woakes also make a comeback, while Gus Atkinson is sidelined with a hamstring injury. The five-match Test series concludes on August 4 at The Oval.

The opening test of the five-match series between England and India is set for June 20 at Headingley in Leeds. The remaining matches are scheduled for Birmingham(July 2-6). Lord’s (July 10-14) and the Oval (July 31-August 4). India will aim to break their 18-year drought with this series, having last won a test series in England back in 2007. This series will also mark a new chapter for India as its rise of a new Era of Cricket forthe  Indian Team with all legends of the game having stepped down. Shubman Gill will be stepping in as the Test Captain following Rohit Sharma’s retirement in May.
