The Duleep Trophy 2025 is India’s premier red-ball inter-zonal tournament. Earlier, the tournament format was changed from Inter-zonal to a format involving different teams. Still, after a year of the same, the organizers have decided to go back to their original inter-zonal format. The Duleep Trophy 2025 is set to begin from August 28 to September 15 and will feature six regional teams: South, West, North, East, Central, and North East. Set to follow the zonal format, the teams will battle out in the knockout format at the Centre of Excellence grounds in Bengaluru.

The South Zone and West Zone teams have been given direct entry into the semi-finals, while the other four zones, North, East, Central, and North-East, will get into the quarter-finals from August 28 to 31. The Semi-finals will begin on September 4, followed by the grand finale starting from September 11 in a four-day action.

The tournament has returned to the zonal format after the previous edition was contested between teams named India A, B, C, and D. This year’s structure reflects a completely new focus on regional talent development and representation. India A, led by Mayank Agarwal, were the champions of the 2024/25 edition after a dominant 132-run win over India C in the final. With the return to the old format, the Duleep Trophy 2025 is going to be an exciting and thrilling contest.

A total of six teams are participating in this edition of the Duleep trophy 2025. Each team is equipped with players with experienced and also has young players to add balance and energy to the squad.  This edition return back to its old schedule, which will be led by promising talents from the domestic regions. With a mix of seasoned players and emerging talents, the Duleep Trophy teams have built all-around squads and will be eager to take on each other for the trophy.

Venue of the Duleep Trophy 2025

The Duleep Trophy 2025 will be hosted entirely at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Grounds in Bengaluru. All matches, including the quarter finals, semi-finals, and the final, are scheduled across two designated grounds, Ground A and Ground B, within the same venue, known for its world-class facilities and consistent playing conditions. BCCI provides an ideal setting for the inter-zonal tournament. With the top-tier structure, the ground is well equipped.
