Axar Patel Injury

India is facing the Aussies in the Champions trophy semi final match 1, at Dubai International stadium. Winning the toss, Australia decided to bat first, leaving men in Blue to bowl on the other hand.

Batting first, Australia opened with Head and Connolly, a newly addition to their playing XI where on the other hand India opted for Shami to open the attack.

This is the seventh time India and Australia are meeting in an ICC ODI competition knockout – World Cup or the Champions Trophy. India have lost the toss in six of these games, the only exception being the 2003 World Cup final in Johannesburg.

Following dismissal of Travis’s head at 39 off 33 deliveries, Varun dismissed the horror of Indian fans. Coming up next, Marnus Labuschagne entered the field.

Bowling against Marnus Labuschagne, Axar Patel got injured in the 16th over. Axar bowls a full delivery on middle stump to Labuschagne. Labuschagne defends it forward to Axar’s right. While defending the ball, he tries to stop the ball but misses and then quickly runs to get it back. However the player falls awkwardly on his neck and is seen holding it in pain.

Following this, Physio was called out on the field and was seen helping Axar to get back with good flexes. Till then, the match has been paused for a drinks break, with soon to return for fans.

Hopefully, we pray that Axar turns back without injury on the field playing his best and taking down some wickets in his favor.
