Bihar CM Nitish Kumar announces ₹10 Lakh reward for Vaibhav Suryavanshi after his record-breaking Century

Playing for the Rajasthan Royals, Vaibhav has broken records and become the youngest centurion in the T20 cricket format. He smashed 101/38 balls in an IPL match against Gujarat Titans on Monday, 28 April. After this powerful knock, Vaibhav has received love, blessings, and greetings from fans, cricketers, and all around.

Hailing from Bihar, Vaibhav made the record and became the youngest player to record a century, and also became the second player to hit the fastest century in the history of the cash-rich league. He smashed a total of 11 sixes and 7 fours to reach this milestone playing with a strike rate of over 250+.

Acknowledging his record, Bihar CM congratulated the player and has also announced a cash reward for his performance during the RR vs GT IPL match 47. “Congratulations and best wishes to Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar, who became the youngest player (14 years) to score a century in the history of IPL. He has become a new hope for Indian cricket as a result of his hard work and talent. Everyone is proud of him. I met Mr Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his father in 2024, and at that time, I wished him a bright future. After his brilliant performance in IPL, I also congratulated him over the phone. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a young cricketer from Bihar, will also be given a prize money of Rs 10 lakh by the state government. I wish that Vaibhav creates new records for the Indian team in the future and brings glory to the country,” Nitish wrote on X.
