Asia Cup 2025: INDvsPAK Rivalry Matches Are Set For September

After losing to India in the Champions Trophy on 23 February, Pakistan can face India for more clashes later this year. As per a Cricbuzz report, fans can expect both the teams for three clashes later this year in September during the Asia Cup 2025.

According to the report, the Asian Cricket Council has decided on a window for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 in September, between the second and fourth weeks of the month.  With the 2026 T20 World Cup approaching, the Asia Cup preparations have started.

Asia Cup 2025

The 17th edition of the tournament is scheduled to be played between the 2nd and 4th weeks of September 2025. Featuring a total of 19 matches, the host rights for the tournament are in the name of India, but citing the clashes with the interest of other teams and the India-Pakistan relation, ACC is looking for a neutral venue adopting the unbiased method adopted in the Champions trophy.

Teams

The tournament will feature a total of eight teams:  Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, Hong Kong, India, and Pakistan. But this time, Nepal will be out of the tournament as they failed to qualify.

Format 

The tournament will be played in T20 format, featuring a total of eight teams. The teams will be divided into two groups, and later, the teams sitting on the top of the points table will advance to the super four stage. The best two teams will move to play in the final of the competition.

India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 Schedule

The official schedule for the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 is yet to be released and has not been made public till now. As of now, three matches are scheduled to be played between the rivals

India enters as the defending champion, having secured the title by defeating Sri Lanka in the 2023 final. Set to be played in the T20 format, the venue for the competition is yet to be decided. But as per some officials, the possible venues could be Sri Lanka and UAE, while the rights stay with BCCI as the official host.
