The Maharani Trophy 2025 is the first-ever women’s T20 cricket tournament organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). This tournament marks the beginning of a new cricket era in the state of Karnataka. Following the success of the Maharaja Trophy, which began in 2022. The Maharani trophy is set to lure the attention of cricket fans. The tournament is scheduled to be played from August 4 to August 10, with a total of 13 matches, while the 12 games of the season will take place at the KSCA Cricket ground in Alur, and the grand final will be played at the iconic M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. A total of 5 teams will participate in the tournaments, including Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli Tigers, Mangaluru Dragons, Mysore Warriors, and Shivamogga Lioness. These teams were formed after an official auction held on July 30, 2025, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. With the matches being played in the league stage and knockout format, the top four teams will move to play in the knockout stage based on the points table standings, and after that, two teams will move to play the final.

Maharani Trophy, 2025: Teams and Captains

The Maharani Trophy 2025 will feature five teams, including Bengaluru Blasters Women, Hubli Tigers Women, Mangaluru Dragons Women, Mysore Warriors Women, and Shivamogga Lioness Women. These teams were formed as part of Karnataka’s first major domestic women’s T20 competition organized by the KSCA. While the full list of captains hasn’t been officially announced, Niki Prasad will lead Bengaluru Blasters Women, Mysore Warriors Women will be led by Shubha Satheesh, and Shivamogga Lioness Women will be captained by Mithila Vinod. The captains for the remaining two teams are yet to be announced. Each squad has 16 players and is filled with experienced and young talents capable of dismantling an opponent’s team.
