The much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 was officially called off due to cross-border tensions and the earlier April Pahalgam attack on soldiers and tourists. The Indian Champions’ legendary players withdrew from the match, which ultimately led to the match cancellation. Fans around the world were left disappointed with the match being scheduled in the first place, and then, following a social media boycott, the match was called off. Soon after the cancellation, a video of Pakistan star Shaheen Afridi went viral on social media, which stirred more buzz around the IND vs PAK WCL match.
Afridi praised Yuvraj Singh, but calls “Bad Egg” to cricketer
In the video shared by the Instagram handle @sanaullah_sports, Shaheen Afridi can be seen talking openly about several topics altogether. Most notably, he called Indian former cricketer Yuvraj Singh an all-rounder and a great player, praising his cricketing skill and contributions to cricket. Afridi said, “He’s a good player, a complete cricketer. That’s why he came here to play, because he want to play good cricket with legends from all the around.”
But what really caught people’s attention was when Afridi used the “Ganda Anda” which is “bad egg”. He didn’t clearly name who he was referring to, but the reel captioned as “Afridi calls one Indian Cricketer bad egg.” This part of the video has caused quite a bit of confusion and debate online, with fans trying to figure out who he actually meant with the bad egg reference.

Afridi on India-Pak ties, “Gets love from Indian fans.”
As the conversation went on, Afridi spoke about how he receives a lot of love and support from Indian fans. “Even my instagram gets greetings and messages from Indian people.” He also shared that whenever he travels, be it US, Dubai or other countries, the Indian community always shows warmth and interacts with him positivelyWhen he further asked about the cancellation of the match, he shared a thoughtful message, that unless both sides sit down and have an honest conversation, issues will not be resolved. “It’s better if people talk and sort it out. Because without talking, it’s not going to go anywhere”
While the reel sparked mixed conversation and reactions online, some saw it as a moment of honesty, others took it as a controversial take due to “Ganda anda” comment. It’s not unclear whom he was referring to and until he offers a justification, his comments have once again drawn attention beyond the cricket field.
