Over the years, only a few leaders have managed to produce extraordinary batting performances under this pressure.

Recently, South Africa’s Wiaan Mulder stunned the cricketing world by smashing an unbeaten 367 runs against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo during his first match as Test Captain, this breathtaking knock made him the first player ever to score over 250 runs in his debut as a Test Captain, breaking a long-standing record set by New Zealand’s Graham Dowling. Meanwhile, India’s young star Shubman Gill also made headlines with his outstanding run in his first series as Test Skipper. The 25-year-old broke Virat Kohli’s record for the most runs by an Indian captain in a debut series, amassing 585 runs against England, including a superb 269 and a match-winning 161.
