Gujarat Titans locked horns with Mumbai Indians in a high-octane clash that will decide who stays in the title race. The winner here punches a ticket to Qualifier 2, where Punjab Kings will face them for the race final showdown on June 3rd against RCB. Facing fiery Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator match, Gujarat Titans lost hold of the match early, losing the wicket of its stable and consistent captain Shubman Gill. But it was Sai who led the charge of GT’s innings and went on to strike an explosive fifty in just 28 balls.
Winning the toss, Mumbai Indians opted to bat first and came out blazing with the bat today and posted a mammoth total of 228/5 with collective efforts from Rohit Sharma and Jonny Bairstow. GT, on the other hand, has had a shaky start with the early loss of the captain Gill, but the duo of Sai and Kusal Mendis brought out a promising start and contributed to the chase until Kusal was dismissed by Mitchell Santner.

Sai reaches Milestone in the Eliminator
Sai Sudharsan played a really solid knock today, hitting a quick 50 off just 28 balls, and helped his team recover from the early loss of Captain Gill. He kept things calm and went on building his innings with quick singles and hitting boundaries. His fifty came with a sweep shot off a delivery from Mitchell Santer in the 7th over when he timed it to third man for a four.
Today, Sai is not just another fifty for his team but also becomes the second player to hit 700 runs in a single run before turning 24, after his captain, Shubman Gill.
At the time of writing, GT were at 76 for 2 and were building a hopeful winning innings against Mumbai Indians with a fifty and Sai’s impressive innings.
