Amongst the celebrations of the Indian Premier League, TNCA, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, has announced the date for the inauguration of the TNPL-Tamil Nadu Premier League. In a video released by TNCA on Twitter, now known as “X”, TNCA announced that TNPL 2025 will begin on 5 June 2025.

Tamil Nadu Premier League is a domestic Twenty Twenty league tournament, organized annually since 2016. Administered by TNCA, the league features a round robin format combined with group stages and playoffs. Featuring a total of 8 teams, Chepauk Super Gillies are the most successful team in the league’s history where Dindigul dragons are the current champion of the latest 2024 edition. The tournament will be almost a month long and will be played around four different venues in Tamil Nadu.

The Auction of the TNPL 2025 Season took place on 15 February 2025, to retain their most prized. Mohammed M became the most expensive player of the TNPL auction and was sold to Salem Spartans for the whopping amount of 18.40.
