1. Rohit Sharma: 264 vs Sri-Lanka
Rohit Sharma has the record for highest Individual score, he topped the list by scoring a massive 264 against Sri Lanka in innings played on 13 Nov 2014. Hitting this huge he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record and then onwards no one has ever come close to this huge score.
Batting in this inning at Eden Gardens Rohit Sharma scored a double century smashing a total of 33 fours and nine sixes from 173 balls. This record of 264 remains the highest score by an individual cricketer since 2014 and no other cricketer has dared to hit this in the ODI history.
2. Martin Guptil: 237* vs West Indies
Playing on the New Zealand Front, Martin Guptil ranks at number 2 in the list for the highest Individual in the ODI format. He owned this record playing in the 2015 World Cup quarter-final. Not just this, he also became the lead run scorer of the campaign.
Accumulating the 237 for 163 balls, Guptill smashed 24 fours and 11 sixes. Playing with a strike rate of 145, he not only recorded as the highest individual but also led the team to win the match against West Indies by 143 runs at Sky Stadium Wellington.
3. Virendra Sehwag: 219 vs West Indies
In the list of top 5, Sehwag is the second Indian to score another double century. Hitting 219 against West Indies in Indore in 2011 became the second Indian player after Sachin to score a double century.
Playing at a strike rate of 143.79, Sehwag accumulated this score by hitting 25 fours and 7 sixes at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. His knock led team India to win by 153 runs, where the team posted a total of 418 runs on the board.
4. Chris Gayle: 215 vs Zimbabwe
Chris Gayle famously known as “Universe Bose” is very popular for dismantling the opponent team’s bowling order. And he proved this when he faced Zimbabwe back in 2015. He scored a smashing 215 with his bat, accumulating the highest Individual score in ODI by hitting 10 fours and 16 sixes.
Gayle achieved his double century in just 138 balls, becoming the first player to score a double century in the World Cup posting a formidable total of 372.
5. Fakhar Zaman: 210* vs Zimbabwe
Fakhar Zaman became the only Pakistani player to score this individual’s highest score in ODIs. Playing against Zimbabwe, Zaman posted a total of 210 in 156 balls. Playing with a strike rate of 134.62, he smashed 24 fours and 5 sixes. Fakhar has led the Greens with the victory over Zimbabwe at Queen Sports Club in 2018.
