The New Zealand all-rounder Mark Chapman has joined the Quetta Gladiators for the ongoing Pakistan Super League season 10. He has arrived in Pakistan and will soon be featuring from the Quetta side in the upcoming fixture under the leadership of Saud Shakeel.

The all-rounder was picked by the Quetta Gladiators franchise in the PSL auction under the platinum category but was unavailable for the initial stages of the PSL Season. He was then replaced by the mystery spinner Ali Majid for the first few matches of the tenth edition.

Confirmation about Mark joining the season was shared by the Quetta Team manager, Azam Khan, who stated that Chapman has joined the team for training sessions and will soon be seen featuring the jersey in the team’s upcoming clash.

“Mark Chapman joined our squad this morning and will participate in today’s all-important training session,” team manager Azam Khan told Business Recorder.

“Chapman’s addition is a massive boost for us. He is someone who can absorb pressure and counterattack when needed—exactly what our middle order requires,” he said.

The aggressive left-handed batter has featured in 179 T20 matches to date, which includes 86 international appearances for New Zealand, along with several games in the CPL and LPL. His upcoming role with Quetta Gladiators will be his debut appearance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Chapman’s ability to stabilise or accelerate (130+ T20 strike rate) directly addresses Quetta’s vulnerability to middle-order collapses. His proficiency against spin bowling aligns perfectly with subcontinental conditions, offering tactical balance. All this makes him a perfect fit for the squad and also makes him a key figure of the Quetta Gladiators.

Gladiators started the season with a win in their name but then lost the next two matches against Lahore and Karachi Kings, and also their winning streak. Currently with 1 win from 3 matches, Quetta is in the fourth position on the PSL points table standings.

Quetta is now scheduled to play the next match against Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on April 25.
