Delhi Capitals are up against Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium for the 29th match of the IPL group stage. This IPL clash is the first home ground match for Delhi. DC has been unbeaten for the whole of the tournament and are the early favorites of the match, on the other hand Mumbai Indians are struggling having lost four of the five matches they played so far in this season.
Winning the toss, Axar Patel opted to field and asked the Mumbai Indians to come to bat first. Axar announced the playing XI for the match, revealed that Faf will not be part of the playing squad as he is injured after the RCB clash.

Winning the toss, Skipper confirmed that Faf du Plessis will not be part of the playing XI as he is injured and said, “We’ll bowl first. We’re chasing well, and it’s the first match over here this season, so don’t know how the pitch will play. Don’t trust numbers from the past too much. The challenge is to follow the plan properly and to be brave even if you get hit for a six. Faf is injured”.
Faf, who got injured during the last clash against RCB and did not field for half of the innings. Considering today’s unavailability, it can be deemed that the injury is serious. Along with it, he did not participate in the training session against MI. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians opted for a change in the playing XI with Rohit Sharma coming in for Vignesh Puthur.
