Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings are all set and locking horns for the Match 22 of the ongoing Indian Premier League. The match is underway at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium on April 8.
Punjab Kings Lose Two Early Wicket Against CSK
Winning the toss, Shreyas Iyer, PBKS captain, decided to bat first and asked Chennai Super Kings to Chase at the MYSIC Stadium. Opening for PBKS, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran came to bat, and Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack for CSK. The match started explosively, especially from PBKS batter Priyansh Arya, who hit a six over Deep backward point on the very first ball of the match. It was indeed a rare and exciting moment to watch.

Though the team started strong with Priyansh hitting explosive boundaries, things weren’t all smooth for Punjab. They lost Prabhsimrah Singh early for a duck in the second over, bowled by Mukesh Choudhary. Shortly after the dismissal, Shreyas Iyer, who came with hope, was also cleaned out over a delivery of Khaleel Ahmed, despite hitting a beautiful six.
At the time of writing, Punjab Kings are at 36/2 with 3.2 overs. Scoring 36 in just three overs, Punjab has a lead in the game but already have lost two important wickets. With Priyansh still at the crease and playing aggressively, PBKS will hope he continues the momentum. But CSK’s bowlers, especially Mukesh and Khaleel, have managed to pull things back with key breakthroughs. It would be interesting to see who pulls it off, the match is going to be a high octane thriller indeed.
