The much-awaited IPL 2025 Wankhede clash is underway at the moment between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, and it’s an action-packed cinema start. Mumbai Indians, who came with the pressure of two losses of the season absolutely stunned the fans with their top-tier bowling today.

The most highlighted team moment unfolded when the new debutant of the Mumbai Indians not just made his debut but sent the KKR captain on his first delivery of the debut innings. Ashwani’s breakthrough came with support from the fielder Tilak Varma, who first juggled with the ball but then ended up with a stunning, unbelievable catch on the field.

After early dismissal of Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine Mumbai was celebrating the wickets of their bowling attack. Adding more to the joy, Aswani Kumar who made a dream debut bowled to KKR’s skipper Ajinkya Rahane and dismissed him over his IPL debut first delivery making him the tenth player in the IPL history to achieve the feat.

Ashwani started with a fuller length ball wide outside off, tempting Rahane to go after it, Rahane looking to break the shaky start. He threw his bat at the ball and it flew towards the deep backpoint. Tilak Varma positioned there went for the catch with hard hands but initially fumbled as the ball slipped out of his hands. However he quickly turned and focused on the ball and caught it with his right hand just before hitting the ground.

It was a fantastic catch, and with that, Ashwani Kumar got his first IPL wicket, sending Rahane back to the pavilion for just 11 runs, making it a brilliant debut for the player.
