Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk after a long time of 17 years by 50 runs. Surprisingly, MS Dhoni, the finisher of CSK, comes out to bat at number 9 in the match in a 198-run chase below players like Ravichandran Ashwin and Sam Curran. He scored an unbeaten 30 off 16 balls, which looks like a solid knock, but it came when the game was almost out of CSK’s reach. Many fans and cricket experts were disappointed with the batting position of Dhoni in the match.
“Jaldi aa gaye,” Virender Sehwag jokes as MS Dhoni comes out to bat at no. 9 against RCB
Speaking on the CSK vs RCB match on Cricbuzz, Virender Sehwag joked as MS Dhoni came out to bat at no. 9. He said, “Jaldi aa gaye na (He came out to bat early).”
“When he came, 16 overs were bowled. Usually, he comes in the 19th or 20th over, so he came out to bat early, didn’t he? Either he came out to bat early, or his batters lost wickets far too quickly,” Sehwag added.
Major Tiwary, who was also part of the discussion on Cricbuzz, said, “We were talking about this that maybe he will walk out to bat at No. 10.”

Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Chennai Super Kings by 55 runs in the 8th match of the IPL 2025, thanks to amazing performances from Rajat Patidar and the bowlers’ combined effort. This is the first time since 2008 that RCB has defeated CSK at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk.
With a great batting display from captain Rajat Patidar and finishing touches by Tim David, RCB posted a total of 196 in 20 overs. In the second innings, RCB bowlers dominated, taking early wickets and not allowing CSK to recover, eventually winning the match by 50 runs.
