Lucknow Super Giants won their first game of the season, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets in Hyderabad, thanks to the outstanding spell of Shardul Thakur with 4 wickets and the storm of Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran in batting.
Shardul Thakur took 4 wickets in the bowling of key players like Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan to restrict Sunrisers to 190 in 20 overs, and in batting, Marsh and Pooran almost made the game one-sided with their destructive batting in the first 10 overs. Marsh scored 52 runs off 31 balls while Pooran smashed 70 off just 26 balls.

After the first two wickets, Nitish Kumar Reddy joins Travis Head in the middle and batted well in the powerplay, and then Prince Yadav bowled an amazing delivery to remove Head on 47 runs off 28 balls. Then, LSG started to put pressure on SRH batters with continuous wickets and, in the end, restricted them to 190 in 20 overs. Shardul Thakur took 4 wickets, while the rest of the bowlers got 1 each.
Chasing the 191 runs total, LSG lost Aiden Markram on just 1 run, but then Nicholas Pooran joined Mitchell Marsh in the middle and put on a show of power hitting. Marsh scored 52 runs off just 31 balls, and Pooran smashed 70 runs off just 26 balls, including 6 sixes and 6 fours.
