2008: Shaun Marsh
Playing for Kings XI Punjab, Shaun Marsh was awarded the Orange Cap for the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League. Being the highest run scorer with 616 runs, Shaun Marsh won the orange cap.
2009: Matthew Hayden
Hayden dominated the 2009 season with his batting prowess, playing from the CSK front, he dominated the IPL world scoring 572 runs individually. He now is a known commentator and is a regular face in the broadcasting media.
2010: Sachin Tendulkar
Master Blaster Sachin is exceptionally known for his batting and shots during his cricketing stint back then. He scored a total of 618 runs while playing for the Mumbai side. Retired from all formats of the cricket in present, Sachin is still active in the cricketing world and has been playing in the Masters league.

2014: Robin Uthappa
Uthappa being the orange cap holder for the 2014 season ahs played an important role in the winning of KKRs title in the 2014 season. He now has retired from the IPL and plays overseas in different T20 Leagues abroad.
2015, 2017, & 2019: David Warner
Having played in different seasons, David Warner has established himself as the most successful orange cap holder in the IPL History so far. Warner has won orange cap in the year 2015, 2017 and then once again in 2019. Playing for SRH side, he has scored 562, 641 and 692 runs respectively.
2016 & 2024: Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is the most popular cricketer who is not just known for his charisma on the field but also for the kind of batting he does. He has shown great batting performances in different seasons and has won the Orange Cap twice in the IPL History, once in the year 2016 when he scored 973 runs and then in 2024 when he scored 741 runs.
2018: Kane Williamson
Williamson won the Orange Cap in the year 2018 when he brought up strong fiery batting performances. Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad he has scored a total of 735 runs for the season and won the cap in his name. Later he moved in the next season with another team joining Gujarat Titans.
2020: KL Rahul
KL Rahul, having played in the KXIP, has earned the orange cap and included himself in the list of player IPL Orange Cap winners List
2021:Ruturaj Gaikwad
The now CSK Captain and then a player he won the prestigious title of Orange Cap for the 2021 IPL Season. Ruturaj has scored a total of 635 runs.
2022: Jos Butler
The 2022 Era of Jos Butler, and the same year he won the orange cap for the IPL season of 2022. He scored 863 runs for the season and helped his team to reach finals but all ended in vain as the team couldn’t win the trophy that season.
2023: Shubhman Gill
Shubman Gill won the orange cap for the IPL 2023 Season. Playing for the Gujarat Titans in the same season, he scored a total of 890 runs, the highest by any player in the season.
2025: Sai Sudharsan
In IPL 2025, Sai Sudharsan from Gujarat Titans won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the tournament. He made 759 runs in 15 matches with an average of 54.21 and a strike rate of 156.17. His best performance was an unbeaten 108*. Sudharsan’s strong and consistent batting made him one of the standout players of the season.
