5 Players who can replace Harry Brook

Harry Brook has opted to withdraw from IPL 2025 to give more preference to the England game and prioritize his commitments to the team. Just two weeks prior to the IPL 2025, he announced that he wouldn’t be part of the Delhi Capitals this year as well. Last year, the player also opted out from the IPL Season following his grandmother’s death.

The player has decided to move on with his prior home team commitments, leaving the void in Delhi Capitals for the upcoming IPL season.  Harry Brook was bought for INR 6.25 Crore and was expected to play an important role in the middle order for DC. Now, after his withdrawal, the team has to look for other overseas options who could potentially fill in Harry Brook’s shoes for the franchise for DC’s IPL Squad.

Potential Replacements of Harry Brook for DC

1. Daryl Mitchell

Seeing the performance of the star in the champions trophy and other cricket format, Mitchell stands out as the number one option who could fill in the shoes of Harry Brook. He has been performing for the team he plays for and also holds the ability to bat at any position in the batting order which even makes this player a more appropriate choice.

2. Dewald Brevis

This South African Cricketer is known for his explosive batting prowess and holds the capacity to break any bowling order. Dewald has shown great cricket in the recently concluded SA20 Tournament. Seeing his recent performance and batting style, he could be the next replacement for Harry Brook for the Delhi Capitals. This isn’t the first time that he would be playing for any franchise in the IPL; he has batting experience from ex-franchise MI, which would potentially help him to meet the expectations. 

3. Ben Duckett

Having shown red hot form with the bat, Ben has made his place in the England team. If Delhi Capitals chose to make him part of the squad, then he could be a potential key player to help the team get the start they want to put up big numbers on board. Besides this, his performance in the champions trophy was also commendable, and he also holds a great experience in the T20 format.

4. Miachel Bracewell

This all-rounder had blasting innings in the recently concluded Champions trophy and has been awarded as the Most Valuable player of the tournament. He not only picks fights with his bat but also delivers wickets with his bowling performances. Looking up his performance, he could be an asset to Delhi Capitals, improving their chances to stand strong in the competition. 

5. Kane Williamson

Being unsold in the IPL 2025 Auction, Kane holds the ability to bring power to the DC Squad and also can deliver knocks when the team needs them. His ability to anchor innings and guide the batting lineup could provide the stability that DC seeks in the top order. Besides, Kane has great experience under his name and also holds the leadership qualities that DC is looking for, as it is the only team that hasn’t announced the captain for the 2025 season. So if the franchise decides to move with Kane, he could prove an advantage for the team for the IPL 2025.
